Global Castor Oil Processing Plant Manufacturers and Advance Turnkey Solutions
Muez Hest is a premier global castor oil refinery plant manufacturer and castor oil refining machinery supplier, offering complete engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions for industrial castor seed processing. With over 30+ years of field-proven expertise, we design and install high-yield castor oil processing plant turnkey solutions tailored for extraction, neutralization, bleaching and deodorization.
Our custom-engineered industrial castor oil processing unit setups handle crude castor seed oil to deliver high-value industrial grades including First Special Grade (FSG), Commercial Grade, and Pale Pressed Castor Oil (PPCO) meeting stringent international specifications for chemical, pharmaceutical, lubricant and polymer industries.
Our advanced continuous castor seed oil extraction machinery and refining plants are designed to process diverse feedstock variations while consistently yielding industry-standard commercial cuts:
• First Special Grade (FSG) Castor Oil: Refined through high-efficiency chemical neutralization, earth bleaching, and deep vacuum deodorization to achieve low FFA (<0.25%) and exceptional Lovibond clarity.
• Commercial Grade Castor Oil: Produced via expeller pressing and solvent extraction, suited for industrial lubricity, surfactants, and chemical manufacturing.
• Pale Pressed Castor Oil (PPCO): Premium, light-colored grade obtained from first cold-pressing of castor seeds, ideal for high-end cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical applications.
| Engineering Parameter | Industrial Specification |
|---|---|
| Plant Capacity Options | 20 TPD to 300+ TPD (Continuous or Semi-Continuous) |
| Free Fatty Acid (FFA) Output | ≤ 0.10% – 0.25% (Grade dependent) |
| Refining Loss / Oil Yield | Minimum neutral oil loss with automated soap-stock separation |
| Deodorization Operating Vacuum | 1.5 mbar to 3 mbar |
| Material of Construction (MOC) | SS304 / SS316L for all contact parts |
| Bleaching Earth Dosing | Automated gravimetric dosing system |
| Process Control | Fully integrated PLC / SCADA system with remote monitoring |
In this step, water is added to crude castor oil to hydrate and separate the hydratable phospholipids (gums). This process helps reduce the viscosity and improves the oil's clarity by removing unwanted impurities.
Acidic compounds like phosphoric or citric acid are added to the oil to break down non-hydratable phospholipids into removable components. This ensures thorough cleaning and prepares the oil for alkali neutralization.
An alkali solution, such as caustic soda, is mixed with the oil to neutralize FFAs, forming soap stock that is then removed. This step also eliminates residual impurities, improving oil stability.
Activated bleaching earth or clay is mixed with the oil to adsorb pigments, trace metals and oxidation by-products. After proper mixing, the oil is filtered to produce a clear, light-colored, and refined product.
The oil is subjected to steam distillation under vacuum conditions, which effectively removes free fatty acids, volatile compounds, and odor-causing substances. This process results in a neutral-smelling, high-quality refined castor oil suitable for various applications.
Proven track record in designing, manufacturing, and commissioning oil refining plants across India, Africa, South America, and the Middle East.
Our laboratory analyzes seed quality and crude oil parameters to determine optimal retention times, chemical dosing, and bleaching earth ratios before plant fabrication.
Heat exchanger networks recycle thermal energy, lowering steam and fuel consumption per ton of processed castor oil.
End-to-end execution from civil foundations and equipment manufacturing to site erection, testing, and operational handover.
Muez Hest also supplies downstream castor oil derivatives processing plants to convert refined castor oil into high-margin chemical derivatives:
① Hydrogenated Castor Oil (HCO / Castor Wax): Continuous hydrogenation plants operating with nickel catalyst systems.
② 12-Hydroxystearic Acid (12-HSA): Saponification and acidification processing units for lithium grease production.
③ Sebacic Acid & Dehydrated Castor Oil (DCO): Specialized high-temperature cracking and dehydration reaction systems.

Discover some of the most asked questions regarding Castor Oil Plant.
Castor oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the castor bean plant (Ricinus communis). It is used in a variety of applications, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and industrial products, due to its unique chemical properties and health benefits.
Plant cost depends on target daily capacity (TPD), level of process automation (semi-automatic vs. fully continuous SCADA control), metallurgy specifications (SS316 vs. SS304), and whether downstream pale pressed castor oil extraction machinery or derivatives processing is required.
Yes. Our First Special Grade (FSG) castor oil plants are designed for continuous operation, utilizing automated alkali dosing and deep vacuum bleaching to consistently yield FSG parameters.
We utilize high-efficiency disc-stack centrifuges combined with precise dosing in the castor oil neutralization reactor to ensure sharp separation between soap stock and neutral oil, minimizing oil carryover.
A full castor oil extraction plant manufacturer scope includes seed preparation (cleaning, decorticating, conditioning), mechanical expeller pressing, solvent extraction for cake residue and the main refining line (degumming, bleaching, deodorizing).
