Step 1
Feedstock Preparation
Soap stock, which includes residual oils, fats, and impurities from the refining process, is introduced into the reaction vessel of the Acid Oil Plant for treatment.

Heating
The soap stock is heated to approximately 90 - 95°C to ensure uniform temperature throughout, which is crucial for preparing the stock for the subsequent chemical reaction.

Chemical Addition
Sulfuric acid or a similar acidifying agent is added to the heated soap stock to initiate a reaction that separates the oil from other components, with the reaction lasting about 10 minutes. Following this, the mixture is boiled for several hours to complete the separation process, allowing the acid oil to fully separate from the remaining impurities.

Separation
After boiling, the mixture is left to settle for several hours, during which it forms three distinct layers. The top layer, acid oil, is collected and pumped into a storage tank for further use. The middle layer, acidic sludge, which contains residual solids and impurities, remains in the vessel and may be processed or disposed of separately. The bottom layer, acidic water, containing water and soluble acids, is separated and managed in accordance with environmental regulations.

Collection and Storage
The acid oil is transferred to a storage tank for future processing or use in various applications. Meanwhile, the by-products, acidic sludge and acidic water, are treated further, recycled, or disposed of in accordance with environmental standards.
