Multifeed Biodiesel Plant

Biodiesel is fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) produced by the Transesterification of Vegetable Oils, Yellow Greases, Used Cooking Oil, or Animal Fats. The oils or fats are pretreated with a catalyst/chemical to remove impurities like phosphorus, sulfur-free acidity, free fatty acids, moisture, and coloring pigments that hinder the transesterification reaction. Following the pretreatment, the triglycerides were reacted with alcohol in the presence of an alkaline catalyst/enzyme in transesterification. They produced the methyl esters and the by-product glycerine, which can be further purified and distillate to obtain the BS100 Biodiesel and by-product glycerine to Pharma Grade Glycerine.

Biodiesel, as a renewable fuel, can be used as an alternate fuel without any engine changes. Globally, biofuels have caught the attention in the last decade, and it is imperative to keep up with the developments in biofuels. Currently, The Government's Policy aims to utilize, develop, and promote domestic feedstock and its utilization to produce biofuels, thereby increasingly substituting fossil fuels while contributing to National Energy Security and Climate change mitigation, apart from sustainably creating new employment opportunities and promoting indicative target of 20% blending of ethanol in petrol and 5% blending of biodiesel in diesel is proposed by 2030.

Although the application of biodiesel as a petroleum diesel substitute is being carried out. This is due to the energy crisis with the fast-diminishing petroleum reserves, greater environmental awareness, and the renewable and non-polluting source of edible and nonedible vegetable oils, acid oil, used cooking oil, or animal fats as the biodiesel feedstock.

Muez-Hest, one of the world's leading technology providers for Biodiesel Plants, has developed a very efficient and economical industrial plant capable of processing multi-feedstock while considering the various international standards and safety norms for the establishment of plants. Muez Hest offers the R&D-based latest and validated technologies for the pretreatment of feedstock, transesterification, and distillation to obtain higher quality BS100 Biodiesel that matches the ASTM/EN/IS Standards and utilizes the by-product and converts to the Pharma Grade Glycerine (98.7%).

Feedstock Pre-treatment:

Muez-Hest provides a particular multi-feed pretreatment plant to treat and neutralize low-quality oils like used cooking oils, acid oil, and oils containing high FFA with multiple impurities to achieve the oil, which is super refined, to be used as a raw material for transesterification. This improves the transesterification reaction rate with lower catalyst and alcohol consumption.

Continuous Deacidification and Esterification:

Muez Hest provided a very energy-efficient, low-temperature high vacuum deacidification tower to reduce the FFA of feedstock oil to less than 0.1% and convert the separated fatty acids to triglyceride using Glycerolysis to utilize every by-product of the processing.

Transesterification

Our latest transesterification technology with specially designed Molecular Reactors can reduce the transesterification reaction time with a higher conversion rate of Triglyceride molecules to Methyl Ester with appropriate consumption of catalyst and alcohol, which reduces the conversion costs and very low soap formation.

Methyl Ester Separation & Distillation

Muez Hest designed the horizontal pressurized separators with precious instrumentation to achieve the higher and faster separation of converted methyl ester and the byproduct glycerine. And distillation column to further purify the Methyl ester to BS 100 grade Biodiesel while fulfilling the requirement of the international standards.

Glycerine Purification & Distillation

The by-product glycerine obtained after separation is further purified to recover the untreated oil and soap and distilled to the pharma grade glycerine with 99.7% concentration. Muez Hets offers multicolumn technology for glycerine distillation for continuous operation with low chemical dosing and glycerine losses.

Methanol Rectifications

With a wide range of experience in plant suppliers where the solvent is used, particularly in the distillation section, we have a very efficient alcohol recovery, distillation, and rectification system that respects all safety norms, reutilizes efficiently, and avoids losses.
